Description
The astronaut volunteered for the next space mission to the moon, not knowing, that because of budget restrictions, an expensive rocket would not be used! Instead he would be placed in this contraption which, in turn, would be fired from a huge cannon in a tremendous blast. He would be supplied with a 'pogo stick' so that at impact on the moon he could bounce a few times before coming to a safe stop. He was informed that he would have to return the pogo stick - - - - - if in the future they discovered some way of getting him back!

I can see why he might have reservations about the mission although he would be a pioneering hero, I suspect it would only be in past tense. :-)
