Description
Avalanche Gorge is located along the Trail of the Cedars on the west side of Glacier National Park. It's a very short (less than a kilometer), flat, easy trail, much of which is on a raised boardwalk & takes you through a forest composed mainly of red cedars & cottonwoods. It optionally leads to a a longer & steeper two mile trail to Avalanche Lake, which we hiked & where we got our closest look at a grizzly bear. I only got one half decent photo of the grizzly & that's coming up next...

Great, because I was going for beautiful, not natural. "A copy of the universe is not what is required of art; one of the damned things is ample." - Rebecca West

I love the color of the water. That glacial turquoise tells me how cold it is!! Beautiful shot.

An exquisite POV and capture with the fast moving water and greenery on both sides!
