A most formidable quartet, and a far cry from Steampunk, captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
ZOOM worthy.

Sounds like the beginning of a joke: Two pirates, a Crusader, and an Enchanter walk into a faire... Great capture of this motley and very wonderfully costumed group of guys, Harry! Wow, how cool is this?

I want to do a mix of shots, but I had to mention this because it's got the same 3 guys you had in the shot I just commented on ("Outrage leads to revenge"). We get to see them posing, here, in one of your many beautiful portraits from this series. The guy in the mesh is smiling, like he own's a small hardware shop and is smiling at his daughter, wife and dog in the background---wonderful to see that expression on a fearsome knight, something you've done repeatedly in this series. The guy in the leather pants looks like a buccaneer relaxing for your camera. And the "beowulf" guy---the one with the monster mask on? Man, that's a helluva combat outfit. It's almost out of Star Wars. I know warriors wore such things in the Dark Ages, but I can't imagine how they moved, ran, jumped, anything. And I'm wondering if the guy is smiling or thinking, "I can't WAIT till I get home..." The way he's standing, almost stiffly as if posing for a high school yearbook photographer, he looks comical. I can't put a finger on it, but it's a pose you've gotten in several other shots, and I love it. And then you got another buccaneer in the mix... I love how you get these people to pose for you when there's so much distracting them. I didn't realize what a dedicated portrait photographer you were---it takes quick thinking and presence on your part to get so many vivid portraits in a one day's shoot, and coax out such presence from all your subjects---studio photographers work hours on one person, whereas you got a slew. Also, you have a big skull between the leftmost 2 people. Nice touch, lol. A perfect little piece of intuition on your part. Wonderful portrait, and very vivid as usual. (Even though I only comment on some of your images, I try to capture what you do in many others as well, in my words. I try, at least...)
