Description
Captured 3/7/14, very early morning, in the parking lot of a nearby strip mall.
I like the high key effect of the bottom pic.
A ZOOM is highly recommended in this instance.
The four posts are there obviously to prevent vehicles from hitting the pipe line. I also have a post in front of the hot water tank in my garage.
Au Revoir.

I like those posts, they make a fine piece of art all on their own. The high-contrast variation is striking, I like it very much. Well done, Harry!

The original, here, is another terrific early morning 'abstract' from you, with fine etched shadows, stark physical presences, your typically fine textured walls or sidewalks, your play of angles where there are few horizontal or vertical lines (relative to the earth), and the feeling that these structures---common enough---are still otherworldly. The yellow posts are guard-posts (as you say); but they also appear as if they're watching the gas line, like spectators. Or maybe bouncers---ie, to keep out intruders. Wonderful zig zag shadows coming off the gas lines. You do angled shots from time to time, where everything is angled against everything else, and it makes the scene appear almost spooky, in a fun way: a house of mirrors. And they make good contrast, because the objects are all stark, stony, metallic...I like the dark window too, and the big blank door: All good balance to the textures of the rest. Your black and white is sudden---a very graphic piece, which allows the textures of the sidewalk and wall to stand out more. A really fine black and white. It's brooding, and it could be midnight, with a strong light shining on it. Really fine work, with fine detail and texture...and the yellow posts, here, have become dark and sinister. The 2 images are a fine pairing; and when you start with an original as sharp as this, it's no small thing to make the variation equally fine. Either one could stand on its own...More reminders that the picture is under our nose, if we only bother to look...
