Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Superb capture Andrea. Glad Brigitte enjoyed her stay with you. May she have a safe trip home. God bless.

Very beautiful capture that must have been something to see the windows popping out

I see they also have Legos in England. An excellent capture of what appears to be an updated Modernist design.

Fabulous capture!!

"When this was built the windows were plastic, and with the first heatwave they all started popping out as they expanded!" And doubtless the idiot architect won an innovative award, just like the pouring spout on cartons of orange juice, the designer of it got an innovative design award, and the bloody thing is hopeless. Your capture isn't hopeless though, and deserves an award :)

I should point out here that I meant the ones on cartons of "Just Juice" The type you pull upward to break the seal, absolutely useless, too far from the edge of the carton to pour cleanly. How can you win an award for something so crap? The old school tie I suppose. Still I suppose it beats the bones out of those tetrahedral ones you had to cut with scissors, they were idiotic.

I like this design but plastic windows - really????? I hope that Brigitte had a smooth trip/flight and same for you border! cut and paste this http://bostinno.streetwise.co/2013/08/19/john-hancock-tower-design-failure-falling-windows/ The John Hancock building in Boston, was built with a triangular base and under the right wind direction, the building acted like a wing on a large airplane, and the lifting stress popped out the large plate glass windows that came down to the street like guillotines. At $700 a window, 30 something years ago, it cost $5,000,000 to replace them all.
