My wife likes very much this painting, but me not too much because I find that she's not very successful.

It's nice when you both have a interest in Art. I wonder the way she is painting. Does she also the paintings of things that come along? This piece you made is one of my favourites. It looks a little like Romy Schneider or also called the princes of Monaco

You are being very hard upon yourself in not thinking this portrait a success, I consider it to be totally successful and you need to listen to the mrs. At times we can be our own worse critic, that has good and bad aspects to it... on one hand it prevents us being overly confident to the point of arrogance regarding how we may see how own work and to attain improvements, on the other hand it compromises our own judgement and need to validate our work in seeking to obtain perfection which is a poison chalice situation because one can never attain it and to be honest art is all about liking things and opinion which is based on personal tastes. I find the work you post creatively fascinating... it's a liberating style of line that doesn't complicate yet presents all that we need to see. The theory of less being more could never be demonstrated better than in the work you create... you manage to create atmosphere and mood and emotion in the freedom of style you work in and long may that continue to be the case.
