Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I would know this for your work anywhere! :) You have such a marvelous style. The raised toe, providing a better grip on the lid, is inspired!

Fantastic object, well captured!

I have to disagree with Mike. This looks more like a footed pot. Your retirement is our loss.

Again, I HAD to comment on this. I love your feet sculptures. In the flickr version of this, it almost looks like it's giving us the 'finger'. I know it's a different finger in England (in the States, it's the 3d/middle finger)---and in any case this is a toe, and it's the BIG toe, so I'm way off. But still. The flickr version looks like it's telling us something: Like, "you don't like it? Who ASKED ya!" Here (above), we see it more as a work to study. You use the same sensitive lighting/background that you use in your terrific perfume series. And the leg is in-line with the meeting of the two walls---small point, but good art photography. And we see the shadow...But that foot---man, those are great toes! And that big toe sticking up: Heavy expression in a big toe! Method acting for big toes! (Sense memory: Remember when you were a child and 'stuck out' all the time? USE IT!) (As Lady Macbeth. Ha!) It's great, Andrea. And I like the pot too. I'll tell you, I'd pay whatever you wanted for a piece like that. It just cuts through everything and lets us start all over. You know what I mean? Art like this takes us back to the beginning and lets us start all over: It's that fresh, that real. I love it. So glad to see sculptures and ceramics in your gallery again! (And I think we call "demerara" just "light brown sugar," only I think the demerara has a lot of molasses in it. Not hard to use a lot of it. How do you keep your weight down, with breakfasts like that? If I just LOOK at sugar like that, I put on all kinds of weight. You must have a good metabolism.)

Such clever imagination and so nicely crafted and photographed!
