Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Amazing sculpture and fantastic capture !!!

Fantastic work again, when I think you have reached the pinnacle of creative photography you surprise me again, I like both these shots for different reasons and they work so well as stand-alone sculptures in their own right and on a photographic level too.

Thank God! I was going to urge you to get some moisturizer or a pedicure or something. I don't believe I have seen any of your sculpture I didn't love immediately and this one is no exception. I like your philosophy on art for the masses as well.

I do favor the "little foot" over on FlickR although I did like both sets of toenails!

WOW! This really grabbed me. I originally thought: "Is this the foot of someone with some kind of medical disorder?" Which made me curious. Then I found out that it was part of what is obviously a very interesting sculpture that I would like to see more of. Great work. Bravo!

Well I'm back for a few days of commenting, and my normal apologies apply. I see everything of yours, Andrea, I don't miss a one. And I sit with them, and love them. But in a week of commenting, I have to pick and choose, so I have to skip images along the way. I don't skip because I like the skipped ones less: It's simply because I can't do them all in a short period of time. I'm too slow. And it's not easy to choose, believe me. So please know that...In any case, I hope to get here more than once, this week: Your gallery is always one of the joys for me on RR. I saw the flickr version of this, and went "yessssssss!" I love your sculptures. And I love your feet. Drawn or sculpted, they're unique. I once did an imitation of your feet drawings and and showed it to koosie and helle. I don't know if I ever showed you---I probably didn't dare: It didn't match yours at all! Your full sculpture of this almost looks like wood, but that may be because it's a photo and I'm not standing next to it. Either way, it's a wonderful piece, just a big foot coming off a leg; and the toes spreading out as if they hit the ground with a "splat". Love it. It's caricature and portraiture all in one. And only the cleverest and sharpest drawing artists or sculptors get that version of a foot. This piece, above, has much more detailing in the toes, and I love the deep cut of the nails, and the creases above the nail bed. Terrific caricature of these basic features. The darkness and general look of it reminds me of some of the medieval crucifixes---in their hard angles and folk-like lines and shapes. I know you had nothing like that in mind here, but it does root you in some very special art. I'd love to see the whole series---the concept of you doing ballet dancers is mind-boggling. I'd love to see it all. Stravinsky would embrace such dancers (the Rite of Spring would probably be perfect)---though Tchaikovsky might get a little miffed. (Swan Lake with these feet? That'd be a stretch for the average ballet goer!) I love the coloration and the angle. Terrific. I couldn't comment on an image of yours without doing this. Love it. I just love it.

Well found and captured!
