Description
I took this yesterday while driving around with my wife - I saw this barn & pulled over to take a photo. Not much shoulder on the road, so I had to be quick about it. The sky in the original photo was pure blue & there were some prominent electrical wires that I removed but that still left faint traces. I could have worked on that some more, but decided the sky was too dull looking, so I used some Perfect Effects filters instead to add texture to the sky. It gave it a very painterly look, so I reworked the rest of the photo to match the feel...

This is a perfect example of why you should always take you camera with you. Nice choice of colour filters.

I like the yellow. It gives this the feeling of a hot summer day. You know ... the days when it's so hot you're amazed the trees don't just burst into flame! The color gradation in the sky is perfect. A terrific result!

Orange/yellows and blues are largely opposites (complementary) and so you have an electric contrast here. Your painterly work does give the sky texture, and the gold and orange-tinged barn-side contrasts it with linear accents. The barn shines like an apparition or something from another age, against that layered almost stormy sky. (In the Midwest, you see lots of skies like this right before storms.) And the trees have an almost 3D look---as in those old stereoscope viewers? Where you fused two images in a viewer, and got a 3D effect? It's realistic but also a fantasy, a little like those old linen postcards (which I love). And the dab of white---center, under the barn---somehow ties it all together. Another electric image from you. And you do contrasts very expressively.
