I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

I am looking forward to the stories and police reports regarding this personage how many women will swoon before him? how many men will call him beast and attempt to drive him away?

Nice to meet Chaelim. The thing is, I am not entirely sure how to pronounce his name (for the oddest reasons)...I mean, is the "Ch" pronounced like the English-language consonant blend, or is it more like the "Ch" in Czech, which is basically just "H" on glottal steroids, or is it like the "Ch" in chutspah...which, if you pronounce it in Czech, translates to "eat-spah", if you go only by the sound. Anyway, I'm rambling, and I'm inspired as well...after avoiding Fantasy for so long, despite my love of LeGuin...I'm feeling the urge to dip back into a world of...well...people walking around in clothing made in the labor intensive, pre-industrial way. I love the way this is coming along, and maybe it's me, but it looks as if this hybrid character has definite human traits (at least extremities and eyes of human pedigree) but the mask makes it look as if he has a proboscis--a bit like the mouth parts of some kind of mosquito or other needle-mouth critter...which I find immensely interesting, as it's a cheap excuse for me to make reference to insects. As always, I'm really impressed with the details you worked into this outfit (and the character). The clothing and the accessories are amazing. I'll be that even the details have details. Brilliant.

Very interesting character indeed, that's a truckload of detailing and thinking that has gone into it ! And Chipka question is very much relevant : what is this mask-like facepiece ? It makes more than a fair share of the character's mystery.

I like the contrasts you've achieved here. The weapon is heavy. The face is dark and "feels" heavy, visually. Against all those feathers ... those light and delicate and floaty feathers ... it's a wonderful pairing! Light and dark, light and heavy ... your character is truly a being of more than one world. Well done!! This turned out great! I know you'll have a good time developing the details and character and backstory for your new creation. Nice!!

OMG........ I would absolutely poo in my pants if this jumped out from behind a tree in front of me! You have once again raised the bar with your creativity, Mike! This is absolutely amazing - I'm sure you'll be the talk of the Renaissance Festival this season! Hehe - I dare you to run down the street at night in this..... I can see the call board light up like a Christmas tree at the local police station! LOL
