Thank you for visiting my home page! My real name in John Daniels and I am a software developer that has been playing with digital art for about 5 years now. A family member (grafikeer) got me interested in working with 3D models and that was the end of my free time.Â
It has taken some time to get a handle on the tools, but I feel I am starting to get hang of it. The next step is to dig into the actual modeling aspect. I have a background in Architectual Drafting and working with 3D modeling for structures etc which I plan to leverage in the creation of my own props, clothing and textures.
The DS Meta data packs that I sell are the result of countless hours of learning and playing with my own content to fully understand how the metadata works and how to create is efficiently. I have over 5500 products in my own runtime that now has Smart Content Meta Data. I have been putting together packs that I think make sense and selling them here in the Renderosity Market Place. I picked up ZBrush and I am working on learning how to use it so that I can start creating my own content to publish, I have many ideas, but it will take some time to master the tools needed to bring those ideas to life...

Cool character and outfit...there is something about Reality and LuxRender as far as realism in the lighting and shadows that seems hard to duplicate with DazStudio, but I know what you mean about render times versus quality of render...always a challenge with Vue when you push the light and atmo quality up and render with global radiosity!

Isn't it always the way, everything costs in some manner or another, but "quality takes time" pretty much sums it up...

Beautiful and dangerous guard, I bet!! ;-)

Thank you very much Rock69, you're right, she would be very dangerous... :-)

Gorgeous beauty for a guard. Having view the two pics to compare, I've no idea on the best depiction. The only thing that makes the choice for me is the render time, cause IMO, they both need some light and contrast settings using postwork... And for sure I won't spend 8 hours to wait for any "Amateur" render-contest. For a "Pro" commission...it will depend of the price from the deal lol ;-) Nevertheless thanks to share all your tries that opens mind to make the choice(s).

I have had another image rendering for almost 3 days now, I have a Luxrender slave on an AMD 6 core linked up to my i5 4 core as the master. I am only using 1 core on the i5 so I can continue working on other things.. Based on the state of that render, I figure at least another 2 days before it is done. The render quality of the physical render engine is hard to beat, but if you want a larger image (1920 x 1080), it takes for ever to render fully. I am really just trying to find the happy medium on image size and render time. So far I think that if the image 1000 x 1000 or smaller the Luxrender is worth using, but if you want a large image, it is not worth the time.

Awesome image :)

Thank you very much.

They both look good, but I just can't do Reality. I'm back playing with Studio myself and Renders are 20 minutes for good lights and quality.....Poser PRO 2014 about the same if I have a lot of stuff in there. Longer for SSS. I just have no patience for the realism. I don't try to achieve realism, I like to do fantasy style post work.... A picture for fun, IMO, is not worth 8 hours rendering LOL. For work..well maybe....but it's just not for me. They are both really good either way.
