Decided to do one more sci-fi pic before moving on to another genre. This one gave me a lot of experience in rendering pics in layers and compositing those layers together in post since I had to render in four separate stages to achieve what I was envisioning: Background with motion blur, chasing ships each motion and vector blurred, the rocket exhaust, and the girl on her rocket bike. Rendered out the standard passes for each layer and comp'd in Photoshop. Learned a lot about when to NOT use VRay camera while pulling the rocket exhaust together. Had to dust off an old, unfinished project out to remind myself how I did the rocket exhaust material on the facing particles in that one. Specular blooms added in photoshop.
