My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Oooh, this is really frikkin' NICE! I just found out that the Underground Wonderbar is just around the corner from where I work and this image made me think of it. I used to go there, back when it was elsewhere and it's got the same owner! It's a cool place and this shot made me think of that. It's a cool shot to begin with and I love the people focus! You do these so incredibly well and I love that this one, like the others, is in black and white. It really heightens the human vibe.

A common thread I see across the image is - everyone is smiling. Music makes people happy. Wonderful capture.

Well he's giving her quite a lecherous look, perhaps he should stick to the trombone.

And having a very enjoyable time, apparently, by the smiles! A fun photo, Tara! This is a fascinating series!

Smiles all around except for the musicians. The trombonist in the middle appears to be looking right at you and he doesn't look very happy. I will add my agreement that this is a wonderful black and white slice of life.

Nice one Tara.

I think this image would probably work well as a form of Rorschach test judging by the previous comments. One person stated that "everyone is smiling". Clearly that's not really true, though there are some very nice smiles here. Music generally tends to unite people & create a common bond, yet the feeling I get from this photo is that everyone is in their own little world & that even those who are smiling are probably smiling for very different reasons. But that's undoubtedly a reflection of my own personal world view (or mood of the moment - I might see it differently on a different day). In any case, an intriguing & thought provoking photo...
