Description
Captured back on 5/4/07, at the beautiful Pavilion of Wings, adjacent to the beautiful Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, in Los Angeles, California.
Since there is hardly any insect life in my general area, I drove 22 miles, paid for parking, and then admission, just to see and snap shots of butterflies. And even then, to avoid overcrowding within the small Pavilion, photography and viewing time was limited to under an hour, and then out you go. Sounds so Orwellian. Most of you don't have to experience that to achieve the same results.
Have a nice day.

But what a beautiful butterfly! You wouldn't see those outside, the varieties of species we have now are so limited here. It looks lovely (and happy) on the lantana. We have a butterfly sanctuary (indoors, of course) in Seattle, but I've never been. I may have to give it a visit. Well done, Harry!

Too bad they gave you such a limited window of time but you got a very pretty butterfly shot nonetheless. :)
