Description
What you drink your intoxicating beverage from, captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
A tankard is a form of drinkware consisting of a large, roughly cylindrical, drinking cup with a single handle. Tankards are usually made of silver, pewter, or glass, but can be made of other materials, for example wood, ceramic or leather. A tankard may have a hinged lid, and tankards featuring glass bottoms are also fairly common. Tankards are shaped and used similarly to beer steins.
ORIGIN: Middle English (denoting a large tub for carrying liquid): perhaps related to Dutch tanckaert.
Cool to ZOOM.

They are so lovely and shiny, with the different sigils and designs on the sides; one of my exes used to have one of these, and he used it for beer. I never liked the way the beer tasted in it, but that may have just been me. Beautiful shots of these likely quite costly vessels, Harry!

I do not think these mugs are ideal metal to enjoy a good beer ... I preferred the Irish decorated with faience earthenware or metal cover of Munich! It is a matter of taste and aesthetics ... but ten years ago that I no longer drink beer !!!
