Description

This selfie is just to let you know that I am still kicking and even look in every now and then, although not often leave trace. If you find my vision blocked a bit, please do not worry - it's still okay. 67 is not the age to stop. Can't promise to catch up with all those image of yours but any long road starts with a tiny step. All the very best, Nikolay

LOL! I love this! :) First of all, it's delightful to see you, and especially in such fine form. Also, I couldn't help but notice how much you're looking like Bill, since you've both got beards now. (Bill hasn't been on much lately either, but I showed him this picture. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He is quite well, and sends his greetings.) SO nice to see you again, my friend. :)

Terrific, Nikolay. Minimal, again, because of the sheer dark background (there's some visual activity back there, but very muted). And the stark face---with those terrific, what, ping-pong ball eyes? is that what those are, ping-pong balls? That face is so stark. It feels very minimalistic. But your detail, the wonderful warm sepia tones of the face, the lights in the beard, and your expression, all make this rich, once again. A wonderful concept, which you didn't mess with but let it speak for itself. One has to zoom because, in imagery as pared down as this, zoom allows us to see all the rich details that the display size doesn't offer. A terrific selfie. (Can you imagine if Rembrandt called his self-portraits "selfies"? "Selfie Number 7, with Bowl of Fruit"...) A terrific image.
