Description

Wow, this image took forEVER to render. 235hours, 43minutes, and 11seconds. I beleive this is mostly due to the texture on the 'Mech. It's shiney and ever so slightly reflective. Not to mention that's actually two textures merged to make one. With the grass this image was also over 24million pollygons. The grass really didn't slow it down any though. Originally rendered at 1600x1200 and can be viewed here: http://www.mektek.net/images2/whitefeather/truecolorsbr.jpg The Daishi AKA DireWolf was modelled by my good friend Zakua. Like the other 'Mechs, it is based off of the MechWarrior 4 game which is based off of the BattleTech universe. Oh yea... Sky by Filip Stamate Little bit of postwork in photoshop just to mix up the grass a hair. (parts were in obvious rows) Comments encouraged!!

1Ghz AMD Thunderbird with 512MBs of SDRam..... Not the fastest thing in the world, but not at all the slowest.

pretty nice. I like the texture on the mech. You must have more patience than I could manage. I think 72 hours is my longest render.

I thought I was the only guy that rendered truly monsterous files. Way to go. Try that in Bryce. Wonder why it took so long to render? I rendered one with about 10,000 light sources reflections and whatever and it only took 110 hours on the same machine. Search for Wish by me.

Welcome back WhiteFeather since Sep 9. You finally threw down the gage ... tons of grasses and delving into the realism. Excellent work! I can't try so you did. 10 days rendering?! I can wait it for 10 hours at most.

Good job and a great texture on the MECH....if you want made same grass effect without long time to render it, (because is the grass the cause of 250 hours of render time) go to this link and download a little Visual-Basic program tutor for built grass-field. http://www.bantam3d.com Here you download the prog. GREAT WORK

Great textures on the 'Mech... I guess it took also long time to render due to the sky & fog...

The grass looks a bit weird... like it's growing in ranks... The atmosphere and lighting is very good. 253!! That the hugest rendertime I've heard of!

I rarely give an excellent. Is this a Madcat? I don't understand the "Rendering" thing. I only work with photographs and MS Paint. Not too much rendering involved in either one.
