Description
Among my many interests is road cycling, which I used to do competitively ages ago. While the Tour de France remains the premier Grand Tour in professional bicycle racing, the Giro d’Italia is perhaps more dramatic as it is more mountainous and unfolds during the frequently snow-prone weeks in May each year.
Many a Giro has seen late season snowfall at higher elevations, sometimes approaching blizzard conditions, particularly in places like the Passo di Gavia. I have never been terribly enthusiastic about riding in the snow, in spite of my admitted passion for winter. However, seeing pro cyclists braving such adverse, dangerous conditions is awe-inspiring. Long-gone are the days of helmet-less riders, toe clips, and downtube ten-speed shifters, but the drama of this event remains as compelling as ever. And by the way, be sure to catch the remaining stages of La Vuelta a Espana set to resume tomorrow!
All models are either Bryce5 or Wings3d originals save for the DAZ Michael 4, which was posed in DAZ Studio. UV mapping with UVMapper Classic (FREE !!!!!), texturing with PSP8, before finally importing to Bryce5. Thanks for takin’ a peek!
