Description

it seems that very soon, my parents will be moving into assisted living. While I knew that this was coming, the reality of it has hit very hard in my heart. there are some of you who know a bit of the situation and for you friendship and words of kindness, I thank you very much. because of the situation, I will be on and off the site as I look for a new place to live. I hope to continue to post and comment on a on-going basis, but if I am late or I miss one of your posts, please believe me that it is not intentional. this is a spot on the Wind River where the falls drop over 400 feet but have a great source of Eastern Brook Trout. John and I caught a bunch and enjoyed a great evening meal. Thank you for all you kind words and faves Take care and have a great Friday and weekend. Mike

I love the play of light on the water. You are a good son, Mike, so don't worry about checking in. My parents never made it that far so the fact that you are taking the time to make sure they are ok is all that really counts. I'll see you when I see you. Vaya con dios, buddy.

a nice action shot, the lighting is very nice. do what you need to do to keep your parents safe and well, take care of yourself, too. life changes can be hard, you'll be in my thoughts. I hope everything goes smoothly.

I hope all goes well and you soon find what you need for both yourself and your parents. Do not worry about commenting, take care of yourself. Everyone's posts will be here for you to enjoy when you have the time. The image of the stream moving among carefully around the jagged rocks and finding it's path is appropriate to your situation, fine capture.

Sounds like a magnificent catch and a mouth watering meal! I feel for your situation, having been there myself with my folks. I wasn't able to be near them much and I regret that. Luckily, one of my older brothers was able to take good care of them and I can't thank him enough for his many kindnesses in doing so. As we get closer to that big step to where ever it is we go to or become, our minds start to think more about things that were and things that could have been. Well, I guess that is just part of the human condition. We seem to be locked into a cycle right now and I don't know how many spins are left before the cycle stops. I wish you and your folks all the best that is possible in the coming times you have together with each other. May God Bless you all!

at least there they will be cared for 24 7 and you will not have to be concerned with them alone while you are working. better there than a nursing home. my mother died in one beautiful area and a superb capture. it has been since I was small eating freshly caught fish

This is always a heart-rending event, no matter how well you have prepared yourself for it. Making that decision - whether it's yours or theirs - is one of the most painful life decisions you or they will ever have to make. We've been through that with Jo's mom, and my dad in recent years, and it's never easy. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time, Mike. Take good care of them, but remember to take care of yourself, too. It's far too easy to drive yourself into the ground... Been there, done that... This is a lovely capture, Mike!
