Description
A small alcove of a Tibetan shop in NYC. I love Tibetan art & was struck by the profusion of bright colors & intricate imagery in this display...

I like Tibet art, but would prefer to view it one piece at a time! Like your title, I find so much detail in one place to be overload. Such beautiful things, though! I particularly like the carpet.

Lots of colour and richness to be seen here. Lovely capture!

Man, it's not easy skipping over your images. I just looked at the thumbnails again, and this place is a treasure chest...Ok, this pic...A lot of the Eastern scriptures are loaded with overgrown jungles and gods and goddesses piling all over themselves, and big visions unfolding in the skies, so it's not surprising to see an overgrown scene like this, in Tibet. The painting or tapestry in the background (behind the seated buddhas/bodhisattvas) makes the point: A big profusion of nature, humans, fire, animals, and mandala-like profusions bursting out from the center. With that as the backdrop, everything else follows. Your color treatment brings out the cacophony and opulence of the scene. And the slight grain in your texture makes this feel a bit of a dream---which would've pleased the figures here well. You got the enveloping corner of this room, which helps hold us in, with all this visual bombast. And the amazing thing is, if an actual buddha were there, he'd be deep in stillness while all this stuff is going on. A very intense flood, and very opulent.

Very colorful and I would love to own the golden lotus flower near the floor!
