Description

National Automobile Museum Reno, Nevada I love British Racing Green. When we bought a golf cart for our summer campground a few years ago, that was one of the things I wanted. This is not my golf cart. It's a 1949 Jaguar XK-120 Roadster.

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life Never make a pretty woman your wife So for my personal point of view Get an ugly girl to marry you ~ JIMMY SOUL A horribly sexist song from 1963 but the sentiment applies to cars as well. I owned, in order, a Morris Minor, an MGA and a Triumph Spitfire. Beautiful, charismatic, heartbreaking and in the shop every week. They kept me broke for years. The old saying is true; “British cars are made for masochists by sadists.” Then I bought a plan-as-paste Datsun station wagon and drove it for 33 years. You might have guessed that I have issues with British cars. I also love British Racing Green and this is a gorgeous image of the best of the breed but I could never own another British car.

Well, the Jag would still make a very nice golf cart...a totally original one! In keeping with wysiwig's rant on British cars, you might want to know why they do not make computers in Britain...it's because they haven't yet found a way to make them leak oil...

Lovely lines, designed on the female form. But terribly susceptible to the metal moth. A very beautiful photo.

Sweet shot of this classic, Tara! What a deep green that is! I don't usually care for green as a car color, but that's not bad at all. I'm thinking you could probably buy a lifetime supply of golf carts (and clubs, and balls and a membership at a primo golf club) for the price of that Jag!
