Description
Looking down on the town of Amboise from the ramparts of the chateau. The chateau is over a thousand years old & has an interesting history that's too long & complex for me to detail here. Mary Stewart, Queen of Scots, spent most of her girlhood here & Leonardo Da Vinci spent his last few years at Amboise as a guest of King Francois 1. A 500 meter long underground tunnel connected the chateau with Da Vinci's residence & Francois often used it to visit Da Vinci...

I love the slightly off center leading line that takes you to the turrent and the warm golden hour coloring. The greens and golds are a perfect contrast of colors. There is incredible textural detailing too. My only quible is that I can see the potential for some vast structural detailing in the clouds but it is not quite there. I suggest in RAW that you try the graduated filter, just for the sky, I bet it would really make it pop and then the sky detailing would be in harmony with the structural detail! This must have been a wonderful evening.
