I shot this in the small French town of Azay-le-Rideau, on a day when we visited several chateaus in the Loire Valley, including the one at Azay-le-Rideau, which sits on an island in the middle of the Indre river...

Well I'm at 2 hours now, and I've only done 14 shots! I will come back, Claude, I'm dying to do a lot more. But for now, I'll end with a Sept 24th posting. The overall feel of this is another of your shimmering dreams. And it's both lush and yet formal. The trees and hues are like plush carpets all over the shot. But the composition is very precise, the bridge (and its opposite reflection) makes an anchor to the sumptuous surroundings; and the open near-white water gives it a ground. The trees atop frame it beautifully, as do the trees on the side. You see with real formal balance while also seeing with opulence and abandon. And the white edges of the bridge-arches are brought out like glowing halos. It's beautiful, and cropped beautifully too. You know, I haven't fav'd a thing---I've been so wound up in the pics, I just forgot. So just take a fav for the whole lot. One big glowing fav...I'll have lush dreams tonight. Have a fine evening in the NW. (Said from the cold wintry Midwest, where it was in the 20s this week.) Beautiful work. Almost an autumnal painting.
