Description

We thought this summer we would put in a patio, but like all our projects, the game plan changed more than once! We decided this was the perfect time to put in that fence we'd been talking about, and maybe do the patio next year. The driver's side of the motorhome is the "business end" of the operation when we're parked. Electrical, water, gray and black water drainage happens on that side, and we thought it would be nice to put up a fence to hide it all. The fence is ... oh ... maybe five feet tall, and contains four six-foot panels of horizontal boards in two sizes. We got cedar boards from a small operation in Mount Vernon. I'm not sure if they mill the wood by hand, but it looks that way when it's done. The boards are uneven in thickness, and a six-foot board might be six feet long, or it might be six feet one inch. It makes for a more interesting texture, and we liked the slightly rustic look, since we live in the woods and are generally artsy types. :P Bill stained the fence to match the shed, which you can't see in any of these shots, but it was a nice touch. My favorite detail bit on the fence is the vertical trim boards between panels. There's a gate at the end of the fence that forms an L and hides everything from the street. The gate was so much fun I've made a separate photo collection to show you all the details! Do zoom ... I've left it big so you can ooohh and aaahh and enjoy the project. :)
