My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Right on point and very well said. If you wouldn't do it to a human then don't do it to another animal.

Very powerful image and statement what's really sad these days are the 'owners' who will beat, abuse, torment their pet, especially dogs of all kinds

So very special to see and read this, Tara. It's so interesting and intriguing too, and I just love the collage (or have I to say: the image, you made for this. Anyway for me you were 'allowed' to made that image a lot bigger, my friend. ;-)

This is what the whole human race should aspire to. It should really go without saying !

Sage advice, all.... A wonderful piece, Tara! I sometimes think animals have more on the ball than we do.

We are often so cruel with animals..

I love this poem, and I love animals. Often preferring their company to humans. You only have to give them a chance and they will steal your heart away.

"I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.” - Ellen DeGeneres

This is great! Anthropomorphising is such an odd and troubling thing! I mean, if I want human contact then I'll contact a human and I won't try to turn another creature into a surrogate...that's just...well...dumb. I love the cadence of this and they way it makes its point. It's so nicely conversational as well, and that loads an extra whammy into the last line... ...and speaking of kindness to animals...I'm still working on that particular written offering. It'll come up when it is good and ready, I'm being kind to my muse too...

The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and The London Zoological Society have just completed the biggest over survey of 'The State Of the Planets Wildlife'.. In the last 40 years (yes, 40 years) we have managed to destroy 50% of ALL known species of Wildlife on the planet and the rest are to varying degrees threatened with extinction.. That is due solely to MAN, not nature.. I have very little time for man now, it has treated what should be for our children as a dump and has treated each other with hatred.. It uses what should be a delight (nature), something to loved and lived with in equal if not a less intrusive way.. (It was here first!!!) But we don't.. So, I think the time has come to start again.. The sooner man is gone, the sooner this lovely planet can live again, and evolution begin once more maybe this time getting it right! Sorry, rant over.. Sorry if this offends, but I have watched, hoped, prayed but nothing.. It gets worse, much worse.. Rob
