Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The very best kind; you KNOW they wanted to be there. What a beauty this is, and it seems the bees like them too!

The dark background goes good with the flower... Aloha

Gorgeous. I saw the bee first, because it's an insect and I'm weird like that! And then I saw the colors, because I figure that great colors and contrasts and exciting things are your specialty and, well, there is it...color...nice shape-y things...excitement...great light/shadow contrast and a really interesting composition. It's all here and it's all really, super-good shootin'. I love the colors of that flower.

Yes, beautiful tones on the sunflower, most unusual. But also, your composition is most unusual: the flower's off to one side, there's big dark behind it, there's luminous blue light in the back (unfocussed so it looks just like 'light'), and you have that white wiring or something like it, in front. A most unusual composition and I find it exciting and very pleasing. It's the kind of shot one finds in your gallery many times over, with real juxtapositions and vital contrasts. It must be a beautiful garden.
