Description

Let me introduce two robotic guys to the science and technology community. The one on tracks is Kostjka, hero of a story called something like "Every thing's all right" ( номално) in the book "The bride out of the Trolleybus". It's a collection of satiric stories that had been published on the last page of literary newspaper in the soviet union between 1967 and 1974. Kostjka was a robot to help the workers on the building site. He was programmed to adapt to the habits around him. First, they sent him for beer when he had done the day's job at noon already and they didn't want to leave the expensive high tech idle. Later he started smoking and drinking himself when waiting for material. He also learned to say all the ugly things his colleagues used to. In the meantime, he had sold stolen material to get some extra money. At last Kostjka married Sinka Protopopova and changed to another employer. ... Among a few other details, the red nose is not authentic - the story was actually a bit criticizing the soviet system. The three legged and four-eyed comrade calls himself Mikrobi, hero of a Hungarian animated cartoon in the 1970s/80s. The whole series is quite similar to Adolar and his Gulliverkli. They had a family space ship and survived fantastic adventures on planets with strange inhabitants. In opposite to the hard working Kostjika, Mikrobi primarily served as kind of a baby sitter who could have an eye on the child in any direction. As the hero of the story, Mikrobi always was the one to solve the problems caused by his family. He tended to be a bit hydrophobic because of being made of sheet metal and therefore afraid that he would rust. On wet occasions he was promised an extra deal of oil.
