Description

One of the rare occasions I got the complete tow aircraft on to the image from the rear seat... of course we did not manage to stay completely clear of those clouds even though our tow pilot had thought he would be able to climb above them. It wasn't only the Twin with two big guys he had to tow, it was also equipped with a wing glove, a number of pressure probes and an additional camera on the tail. It felt a bit weird to see just 25 meters of cable before the bow ending in a white wall. ... once something similar happened to me sitting on the winch, when the glider, FC Grosenhain's Scheibe L-Spatz, suddenly disappeared into a cloud. The scene had pretty much of an East Indian Rope Trick - the cable just standing into the air and ending within the light white. I closed the throttle a bit but then the glider reappeared again. Afterwards it was decided that we would not go on flying at first. A video of this partucalar air tow from line up until the end of record is on https://vimeo.com/106846558 Remo DR-400 (D-EDVE), Jens Heider, DLR Panasonic DMC FZ-50 Corel Photopaint 7 for cropping Notepad
