Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update Ă‚Â January 2012:Ă‚Â After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with itsĂ‚Â advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems.Ă‚Â I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books. Ă‚Â Life marches on!Ă‚Â Ă‚Â Ă‚Â
Dana

great info on him, dana. also great shot that is best zoomed. looks like it's enjoying the sun.. that's some rough mating if it was the cause..

At first I thought he was dead. His eyes also appear to be on the ground. ..ok...I better go to be LOL....amazing shot here :-)

His head would have been on the walkway if he were dead. He was in the sun to warm his body. Reptiles do not generate body warmth like humans they get their body warmth from the sun. The half open eye was watching me moving in for the photo!

Fabulous and very cool capture Dana! I thought he was wearing some form a skull cap at first

Very attractive in a prehistoric way! Did you get a photo of the cornered ladies?
danapommet
The two elder ladies may not take their morning walk in the swamp any more. I should have snapped off a photo as 'random women' but the boy scout in me was just trying to get the ladies out of a stressful situation.

Looks like a very lazy guy :)

He looks quite blissful in the warm sun; I can't imagine encountering a large reptile on a boardwalk, but then I haven't been in Florida. Wonderful capture and information!

J'adore sa position longée au soleil. Superbe prise de vue Dana. C'est une merveilleuse photographie. I like his position followed to the sun. Magnificent capture Dana. It is a marvelous photography.

They are not welcome in my yard (I live in S.W. Florida), they can trash a garden or flowerbed in no time!

Cool shot and interesting information Dana. At first I thought that blue part was a scarf or something like that. I have seen some similar sized ones in belize and oi wouldn't want to run into an aggressive one.

This is such an intriguing portrait, Dana! I'm really fascinating by all the fabulous textures and colors, which you captured so very well, and there is so much to discover by looking over all the details in zoom. A great photo, and info as well, my friend. Thank you very much for sharing this!
