I've always thought of myself as a patient man......but something like this!!....... The top image is the threshold of one of the tombs in the Myndos Necropolis. It sits in the grounds of a hotel about 10 feet from the swimming pool. The lower images are at Ephesus, an entire mosaic sidewalk, almost entirely intact after 2000 years and several significant earthquakes. The sidewalk runs in front of the terraced houses, you're not allowed to walk on this....unless you're a cat! It may be worth pointing out at this point, if you have any 'issues' with cats DO NOT go to Ephesus. The place is over run with hundreds of feral cats, they're everywhere. In the lower right image you will see a modern structure, this covers terraced houses that have been completely excavated and cleaned up. You have to pay extra to go in, 15 lira about £4, it is so worth it. Unfortunately photography is strictly forbidden and there are several uniformed guards in there to enforce this. However, if you go to Google images and type in 'Ephesus Terraced Houses' I promise you WILL be amazed!! Tomorrow, the oldest business card in the world......not surprisingly for the oldest profession in the world..
