Description

Another image from the Walters in Baltimore. ISTR that this plaque is about 1 foot square (30 cm for the rest of the world). It was not far from the tile with the profile of the lady which I posted earlier. I believe this is also Italian, but I'm not going to hazard a guess on the century involved. Available light, no intervening glass/Perspex to cause problems and a little PW to clean things up -- to include a light embossing to establish that this was a 3D image. This is a very colorful piece. Nice and bright. The lighting in the gallery was very dreamy and I found myself running down strange alleys of thought: oddball headgear, infestations of wee folk, and King's Pawn to Bishop 4, etc. (It must have been the hunger pangs.) Got a few more goodies and we will be going back for more as time permits. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
