Description

There are times when even the most serious, birthday wishes get photo-bombed by Dr.Suess-inspired…reptiles. Okay, this never actually started out as one of those solemn, serious birthday wishes, and the croc-in-the-hat was actually supposed to be there; I’d wanted the dancing crocs with the boom box, but alas, their particular bit of sticker art has been painted over, rather unceremoniously, and so the Croc-in-the Hat has to do. I’d wanted to compose a dignified and elegant layered image for Marylyn’s birthday, but then I decided: eh, what the heck, go for fun, instead. And so here you have it: layers of Chicago, including a particular piano bar, a few restaurants, a beach or two, and…um…that green guy in a hat. All of which is to simply say: Happy Birthday, Marilyn! May this be the first of many!

A nice wish, the croc-in-the-hat is actually kinda charming, too. I like the way everything else is glowing in this one, too.

First of many? This can't be Marilyn's first birthday. If so, she must be a most accomplished toddler. Sorry, I have been drinking. Really great effect here. It is a curious blend of 90's vintage anime and Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner'. The reptile standing in for Joanna Cassidy's (Zhora) synthetic snake of coarse.So I suppose this brings us to the question, what if Dr. Suess had written 'Blade Runner'? A lovely tribute to a great lady. Cheers!
