Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The only thing better than free flowers are more free flowers! I love the colors and the shape is so touchable. There's something about the colors that I find really soothing. The colors are bright and vivid and alive, but soothing. I guess it's one of those flower sorts of things: I mean, only insects and flowers can make colors like orange and red seem "mellow." Funny how that works. This is really quite pretty in that good-lookin' sort of way.

Great colors captured !!!

I love what you did to this! They are one of my favourites, so easy, so varied and so promiscuous that the offspring are often a huge surprise.

This is great. From memory I think Mount Shasta is an extinct volcano. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, which I could possibly be!!!!

I love that drive up past Mt Shasta; it's been a while now since I've done it, I may have to think about a road trip. As far as this shot, wowie! I'd love to have these volunteering in my garden, I can't seem to grow them past their first year. Oh well, eh? Glad you got them, and this lovely shot!

Have a great time, and be careful in the mountains! This is gorgeous. I always loved seeing these come up in the garden!

Big bold splashes of color, your postwork made it big splashes and splotches of very vivid color. The flower seems to be in a transfixed state. It reminds me of many of the flower pics you posted a few years back. And your background is like teardrops of color, dripping down the shot like melted wax...very visceral and vital.
