Description

Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes; it means the world to me. It's been a great day and your thoughts made it even better!! This is big chunk of driftwood out at my favorite beach. Did a bit of digifiddling (love that word, Andrea!!) just for the heck of it!!

Very cool capture, it almost had me stumped how you digifiddled it. Again, best wishes to you

Your postwork made this into a mythic presence, and the sky---doused in purples---feels like a sky from ages ago that appeared in this shot from the prehistoric past. You've flattened the wood so it looks almost like rock, and the beach back there is flattened too (the way Andrea does). A big mysterious and in your face image of a beautiful artifact of water, wind and age. Beautiful work, Marilyn. And zoomed, we get to see the major contrasts in your postwork. A mythic treatment of a beautiful object.
