Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Very cool capture, it almost had me stumped how you digifiddled it. Again, best wishes to you

Your postwork made this into a mythic presence, and the sky---doused in purples---feels like a sky from ages ago that appeared in this shot from the prehistoric past. You've flattened the wood so it looks almost like rock, and the beach back there is flattened too (the way Andrea does). A big mysterious and in your face image of a beautiful artifact of water, wind and age. Beautiful work, Marilyn. And zoomed, we get to see the major contrasts in your postwork. A mythic treatment of a beautiful object.
