Description
More of my once hidden and/or neglected but now exposed Bryce and Poser work from 2002 through 2006, my imaginative period.
Actually, this is just a mini battle group, the real thing being comprised of an aircraft carrier, accompanied by an escort of smaller craft such as cruisers, destroyers, and possibly submarines.
Ciao, baby.

Well I'm moving towards 2 hours (I started at 8:15 my time---in the a.m.---and it's now 10:08. So unfortunately I have to come to a close, for today.) There are all kinds of images I didn't do, which I'll get to next session. But here I am at another of your mixed medium pieces, as I have to demonstrate why I like them so much. This has the feeling of battle-preparedness: They're en route, or at least on-watch: It feels like preparedness for something massive. But nothing's happening yet---the universe is all gentle waves and hazy light and quiet silhouettes---it's marvelous what mood you got, considering where these ships are probably headed. Your water, in front, is like rippling linoleum. In back it becomes more like an oil painting. The shadow-tone is a rich deep brown, mixed with a lighter dusty brown. And the sky is a beautiful orange-to-yellow thing, more of your rich saturated hues with a lovely sun hidden behind the haze. It's not dawn---the sun's too high up---but it has a dawn feel, because this is about "pre" action, it feels that way to me. And your reflections on the water are abstract and beautiful. (And, once again, your signature picks up the hues in the piece, and then lightens them.) Mysteriously quiet, intimating something very big to come. Beautiful work once more, Harry. I'll do more of your photography next time, but it's been a pleasure to sit with these pieces. They've been a joy.
