Description

A couple of days ago, I posted a photo of a beautifully crafted garden door. This is the house that it's attached to & you can see part of that door if you look carefully, though that's clearly not the focus of this photo...

We get so used to what's normal for us. Andrea's comment reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend in a country on the other side of the world where everything is built with bricks and concrete. I sent him a picture of an old church, and there was dead silence on the other end of the headset. I thought perhaps there was something wrong with my picture that I hadn't noticed. Finally he said, with great reverence, "Is that a WOODEN building??" Well, when you're surrounded by 75 or 100 foot tall trees, what else would you use as a building material?? Normal is dependent upon time and place. It's a lovely old home, and a terrific shot!
