Description
Captured 11/8/14, very early am, adjacent to a freeway onramp. Looks kinda spooky.
No, I just didn't stumble upon this guy lying there in the sun with this cool shadow, all set to be photographed. I found it under the freeway overpass, shoved it out into the sunlight, and maneuvered it around until I came up with this position. All done by my feet. Cheating I know, but anything for a shadow, and, I do have photographer's license.

Someone out there is wondering what happened to their glove. Very nicely done, even if you had to exercise some freedom in placing it in a more favorable location.

Great eye, and of course you have photographer's license to put things wherever they look best! You aligned the long bits of the glove perfectly to get the maximum shadow length, to superb effect. Wonderful photo, Harry!

I promise to come back for more than a photo each night, but while I'm trying to catch up in a few other galleries, I still want to come here as much as I can, in between. I wanted to do this wonderful shot since you posted it...Harry, the things you do to make shots like these are part of your art, truly---not separate from it. You're doing dialogue with the object and its surroundings, you're moving it, placing it, peering, studying and communing with it---it's all part of the art, here. Studio shooting has so much moving around---with backdrops, lighting, etc.---why shouldn't outdoor shooting, as well? Fact is, this is a terrific image, with deep blue shadows, a really high key light on the glove's extremities, a bleached intense background---I see sidewalks and parking lots everyday, but you're one of the few who finds all this power in them---and very high-key contrasts. It's a solo piece, but with lots of power. Your high contrast is electric. And all with a big beat-up glove. It's great that you find so much life in these dilapidated objects: You're giving them their Aria on the stage. Wonderful from setup to shot to postwork: Electric energy abounds.
