Description

This is made with dry pastel on sanded paper and I worked more on this, as sanded paper can receive alot more pastel, than a normal paper can. Partially with Pastel Crayons and partially with Pastel Pencils. To Andrea I will say, it is much easier to use pastel pencils. You can still smear them, but you dont get half as dirty :-) BTW, the Tower was mostly made with Pastel Pencils. Hmm ! Now I realize, I never posted the tower in RR. Ok, ill do that later today. Have a beautiful new week and with better weather than we have here. Yuck, it is dark windy cold, only 9C. Thank you so much for your kind comments to my previous posts :-)

Hehe! I do have some pastel pencils and I actually made a half decent image with them once! I may post it here soon. I love the rich colours you got, Helle.

Well! Andrea did a drawing with pastel pencils! She's braver than I am...I too have worked with straight pastels, and gotten so much dust on me and my floor, walls, dog, cat, cows, neighbors and myself, that when I finished, the pastels all stood up in the box and yelled, "DRAW MUCH???" Pardon my English, but I suck at pastels!!! But you, dear Helle, take to them like a duck to water. This is delightful. And Zoomed---essential---one sees the shimmering lights in the mushroom "hats". I know that's white and maybe some other colors, but it looks like lights. You know Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Ballet"? Well there's a dance of mushrooms, and this could be that dance. Lovely little attitudes in each mushroom, kind of swaying their ways while keeping "in formation". This has the charm of your alphabet series, dancing, gentle, illumined, and beautiful. And sanded paper---doesn't it eat your pastels alive??? If you used soft pastels, I'd imagine they'd disappear in seconds! This is so charming, and so filled with autumnal rich red-browns, and dancing...lovely. More! You may even get ME to do a pastel---but be warned, it'll look like someone spilled 2 million tons of pigment all over you. I'll get some of those pencils, hopefully they'll do the trick. This is a beautiful upload, Helle. A party in mother earth.

This is beautiful. Its been so long since I held a pencil to draw I probably forgot how. I do have Corel's Painter, so I should use that.

I love the richness you get with the thicker color and the darker paper. Wow. This is beautiful! It's a perfect counterpoint to the first one, which is light and airy and every bit as beautiful. :)
