Description
What hath God wrought?
Captured 11/3/14, in a parking lot right outside my condominium complex.
They look like scratches to me, or maybe some kind of paint deterioration from engine heat or the elements. Or, possibly the artwork of some graffiti vandal? Other than that, it's beyond my ken.
Definitely ZOOM fodder.

Cool capture... and it's only the clear coat that wearing off the same thing happened to my old car... and it looks like they could use some new windshield wipers! nice one..

Some kind of deterioration, that's for sure. That's why cars need some fairly regular exterior maintenance along with the engine stuff. Too bad for this person, but hopefully it still drives well! Well seen, and an excellent shot, Harry!

given the state of dirt windshield, one can assume that the ravages of time are manifested on this vehicle absolutely abandoned ... unless it is a partial map of Alaska ... Do you know that the "Alaska" is exquisite ???

Way to notice this cool pattern formed on their car, Harry.

Looks like a dragon.

U.V. does that to clearcoat. Protective waxes just don't work, the car needed to be parked under cover.

Very good capture!

Whatever caused this, your treatment of the photo has given us a whole aerial map with shorelines and islands galore. I've never seen anything like this on a car! I've seen ICE like this, but never these lines in the actual chrome. You clarified and brought out the many fissures, and the 'light' they give. And also the two tones of the hood (they're subtly different, but they're there). But the fissures are a bright blue! And the light illumines the lower part of the hood like the sky does to a landscape. Wonderful capture, your eye is alive, and even the windshield has striations on it. (62guy said it comes from protective waxes not working on the clearcoat. Then those are some pretty creative waxes! I'd use them for art, if they give patterns like this!) Sharp seeing; an exciting, unusual shot.

Well seen and captured, Harry... that clear coat isn't holding up very well. Cool patterns.
