Description

A submarine returning to base after a successful hunt during WWII. More of my once hidden and/or neglected fun and imaginative period of Bryce and Poser work from 2002 through 2006, now on display. I previously posted this one far in the past, possibly in this gallery, or perhaps another. I didn't bother to check. Anchors aweigh.

Wow, well done here, Harry; there's such a feeling of being out to sea, as if it really goes on almost forever, and I love the sky. Great work!

Another of your beautiful sky-water images, with (this time) a submarine heading back to base and presumably to peaceful waters. You've done this before, capturing the exquisite calm before or after battle...something that I imagine is both blessing and utterly confounding to any of you who've been in battle (to face nature in all its stunning glory after going through unspeakable hell). For us viewers who can view this as sheer art, it's like being bathed in something otherworldly---we rarely get to see these colors so unimpeded (as they'd be on an ocean, but not in a city). But we also don't know the feeling of having returned from life and death, to be greeted by this huge vision. Another of your beautiful color pieces, Harry, with a sun that seems painted onto the sky, or filtered through an Oriental screen. The purples on the horizon are luscious. Whoosh. You really were thinking boldly, graphically and in sweeping strokes when you did these multi-media pieces...
