Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very good image! love the door glass - makes me think of an 8-bit face from an old Atari game. you could have jumped the Alphabet system and called this C for Corridor or D for door or even H for hallway.

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

Superb catch. Overall cozy feeling until you zoom and then some spooky elements are revealed. The darkened image of a face (mask) through the door on the left. Is he about to strike? A wonderful image that works on several levels.

The light makes even an ordinary hallway something special. Well seen, and I'm so glad you thought to take the picture! It's just my sort of thing. Love it!

I promised I'd make my comments shorter, since you have to sit through so many in my longer sessions. (Chip and I write long comments, but Chip does them in no time at all! I'll never know how he does it, and still writes such wonderful entertaining comments.) Anyway, I'll try, but I can't guarantee anything...A cavern-capture, full of mystery and darkness, and that sunlight burst is amazing, because the shot feels like night, until we see the sunburst. Two rooms---on each side of the shot---with just a portion of them showing, lend a real touch of mystery. And all the objects-in-shadow give intimations of the life of the place. A beautiful restive scene, punctuated by a blast of sun. Beautiful work, Andrea. If you included yourself in a black cape and long fangs, this could pass as Dracula's chambers. (Not how you'd like your place to be known, I realize, but the light is perfect for it. "Goooood Eveninnnnnnng!" With your dogs dressed up as bats or something...)
