Description
The autumn leaves are mostly all on the ground now, the trees are pretty bare & after doing a lot of autumn shooting, I haven't felt particularly inspired the last few days. So instead I've been combing through my archives & found a few photos from my trip to Grand Teton National Park earlier this year that I had overlooked the first time through. No idea what kind of flower this is - I found it growing at Jackson Point Overlook...
Please zoom.

While I was waiting for my computer to get moving and open the page, I was humming a song to myself entitled "Blame it on the Tetons." Now I have a flower to go with the song. :P It's lovely!

("Blame it on the Tetons"??? That's the name of a song??? Never heard that one...) You've brought out the flowers almost like a ghost, white hot and alive. The yellows here saturate the leaves, even the light-lines along the stem. And the reds are almost painted on, they're so strong. It's a powerful contrast to the bokeh'd background, which is rich in deep greens and shadow, and which sets of the appearance of that bloom...You've again made a simple sight into a strong illumined presence, grabbing us from the get-go...
