Description
Captured today, 11/20/14, early in the morning, on my way home from the 99+ cent store, where I get some pretty good buys.
For the sake of high key drama, most of the shots over the past week were taken into the sun, which makes proper composition and focus extremely difficult when squinting into a washed out point-and-shoot monitor.

Stunning layer-on-layer capture of these lovely fronds, Harry; perfect lighting, at the cost of your being able to see your screen. Have you looked into a loupe for it to use under these conditions? I've never tried one, but apparently they are supposed to help. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=canon+camera+loupe

Hmmm, denise mentions a loupe for this challenge---never heard of that. The sun can play havoc with a lot of things. But whatever you suffered in dealing with such sun, the result is another frond shot of rhythm, giddy dance, and very saturating light. Your choice to shoot this through a big leaning stem (with fronds) makes everything behind it like a big layered jungle. We're seeing it all through a big elaborate "fence". You've really studied these frond forms, and communed with them. This is eye popping, and those yellows are very inviting.

It seems shooting them that way really works, this is a lovely one. Glorious colours! Rob

I agree with what everyone is saying about the layers and depth. It is absolutely marvelous! I love the way the fronds behind the most prominent one, crisscross and the added lines made by the shadows and highlights. I like the areas of white. They give it an extra punch. This is a beautiful capture!
