Description
This is Mike. He also lives at my new favorite place. It has been a while since I have been this close to a buffalo. Mike was hand raised and loves people. They scratch his ears and feed him treats. As long as I was in his area, he followed me. He seemed to be very interested in everything I was doing. The only real problem I had with Mike is that he thinks he weighs 2 pounds. He saw no reason why he could not sit on my lap.....Really.

Impressive capture of this friendly giant. We had a Buffalo ranch not too far from here. It was amazing to drive out there to watch them graze and gaze at their audience.

Er, Bev, this gave me a bit of a fright initially, until I had read through your commentary. From what I've heard, they have poor vision and short tempers. I'd hate having one after me, even if tame. It's the size and weight that bother me. However, hand raised, tame, people friendly, curious (aren't all animals curious, wondering what we are and what we're doing?), OK, but not sit in my lap. Now I understand why this photo is so good. He even knows when to pose! Thanks for the enlightenment! Keep up the good work! Got any more surprises from you visit? :-)
