Description
Firstly, HUGE THANK YOU!! for all the messages of support and good wishes, they are most welcome and much appreciated.......
I've always been impatient when it comes to renders.....when people report render times of 4 or 12 and even 22hrs I just cringe....then I started this! Last Monday (17th) I was just about finished with the set up when the phone rang, it was my GP, " Can you get yourself to Arrow Park Hospital, Acute Medical Assessment Unit ? they're expecting you.....oh, and take an overnight bag". Karen drove me and within the hour I was tucked up in bed, hooked up to an IV and blood being taken from my arm.....I'd felt fine at home, now I was not feeling quite so good. After about another hour a very nice doctor came and introduced himself and assured me there was nothing to worry about....they were just sorting a bed on his ward and I'd be taken up and he'd come and have a chat. Long story short, the x-ray I had done last week showed 'something', I had a CT scan on Tuesday, this showed a small growth pressing on a tube between my liver and kidneys, this was causing the pain when going to the toilet and the reason my Turkish sun tan was now yellow...On Friday I was knocked out and a camera was sent down my throat to the site of the problem, a small plastic tube was inserted to relieve the pressure point and biopsy's were taken from the 'growth'. By Saturday the difference was amazing....no discomfort, blood tests came back 'nearer' to normal and I felt great. On Sunday I was asked if I'd like to go home....errm let me think about that...stupid question! The biopsy's have gone to specialists at the Royal Liverpool Hospital who will decide on Wednesday what happens next. I have an out patients appointment on Thursday when I will find out their decision.....I'll let you know.
The above render, (8 days) 21 mins on the adjusted timeline....it would have been quicker to dig the fox hole in the garden.....and probably more fun.....

My thoughts and prayers go out to you for a good prognosis and speedy recovery. Looks like he's got his BAR ready for action Hopefully he'll have enough cans of 30-06's to do what is necessary

Get well. Love all your work.

Really glad you're feeling better and I hope the long term situation stays positive for you. If your art helps you in anyway then just keep cranking them out.

I've run into those kind of render times, only not with that dramatic a reason for the delay. I'm glad they are finally tracking down the problem and getting you some relief. I hate being in limbo but at least now you have a specific area to focus the waiting time on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed (makes typing hell but you're worth it :-) ). The render came out very well by the way.

Thanks for the update mate. I'm not sure what to make of things at the moment and I feel for you whilst having to wait. I hope it is good in the end, truly I do.

Well Neill as Roy Castle used to say…"Your a record breaker!". Good luck though for the results on Wednesday. One small question, why would you want to put a 50cal. dugout in your garden?
Penters
Sorry that should have been 30cal.

Good luck Neil. I had an evidence of a stroke two years ago. But after many of examinations they found nothing. I was in a special doctor office but he found nothing too, after a hundred different examinations. No one of the doctors know what it was. Human body can be strange sometimes... 8 days for a render? Holy ... 8-) Very nice picture.

Good luck mate and let us all know how you get on. I had some problems 10 years ago and had the 'camera treatment' too. I was told I wouldn't feel a thing and yet it felt like the Hubble Space Telescope going in there. Some of my renders like the engine ones can take 10+ hours to render if I crank up the detail lol.

Hi Neil; Sorry to have missed this. I'm on sick leave (near burn-out) yet am called to work for this or that, wearing me down. Thanks for giving such a detailed account of your health problem. Going "down the hatch" and inserting a plastic tube suggests an impediment in the biliary system. Stoppage in the bile flow usually results in jaundice (accumulation of bile pigments in all body tissues, including the skin, hence the "Chinese" tan). I just hope the verdict is "benign" growth! Great render! Reminds me of the film "Fury" I saw last night. 2 1/2 hours in a Sherman Firefly based on a book describing the author's experiences as new crew member. ALL vehicles were REAL, including the German Tiger I, etc... they were on loan from Bovington! As you can surely imagine, the film was VERY realistic and GRIM as hell! I dare say the most realistic war movie I've ever seen (possible exceptions - the Finnish war movies about the attempted Soviet invasion of Finland). If you like film, these may be an interesting source of inspiration for you. However, I wonder how an American crew came to be fighting from a Sherman Firefly - those were used by the Canadians and British, being up-gunned Shermans rebuilt in the UK or Canada (as I recall). Wishing you all the best! Let us know how your health is progressing. Keep up the good work! :-)

Hang in there! Prayers on this end! Oh yeah, digging fox holes isn't any fun, just required.

Best of luck Neil, hope it,s nothing and you can get on with better things. Thanks for making me laugh, I don't laugh near enough but every time I read one of your little ditties [.it would have been quicker to dig the fox hole in the garden.....and probably more fun....] it just brings a smile to my face. Get to feeling better and be happy!!

Hiya Neil, best wishes & I hope you get good news after the biopsy mate. This render reminds me of my old army days & the saying "hurry up and wait", it was always a waiting game. Well done. Take care.

Sorry to hear about the health issue, Neil. Get well quickly. (These forced rests are a bitch!) Very nice render as well, on all fronts. You did a wonderful job matching it all up.

Good to hear things are progressing. The render was well worth the wait by the way.

Sh*t mate! I had no idea it had gotten this bad (possibly.. I'm guessing from the lack of posts, comments and or replies to mails, you are either recovering (laid up), in hospital or something else... I've yet to check the mail I sent yesterday... I wish you ALL the very best mate (and thoughts are with you all).. Get well soon.. Rob
