Description
I know that Thanksgiving is strictly an American holiday,
but it has its roots in ancient rites of thanks-giving for whatever one had.
Especially as the cold descended on all...
This Thanksgiving has a special meaning to me,
because of the people in my life who are struggling.
Some very badly.
One is right here, LBJ2, who's been struggling with a long and difficult illness
and to whom I send my deepest wishes.
But there are others who prefer not to be named
but who I've not forgotten (incl those who's loved ones are so ill).
You know my heart is with you always...
To all of you
and to everyone else,
a thanks for all you do and give each day,
and my deepest wishes that light and healing come to you all
in this season of unforgotten gratitude.
(My image was twice as large, but size limits interceded.
I hope it says enough...)
A peaceful season to you all
with deepest love and gratitude,
Mark

Mark, this is an especially moving Thanksgiving presentation that touched my heart. I just finished reading a message from Lars and was ready to leave when I noticed this upload and was literally left speechless. You are so right about focusing your thanks on those around you like Lars who are in need. No matter how bad Lars is feeling he always asks about my nieces and my friend Rocky who is struggling also. The kindness and concern he shows for others during this dark time in his life says all you need to know about what sort of man he is. You mention those who suffer silently around us, and need our thoughts and prayers daily and I couldn't agree with you more. Over the years God has blessed me to meet so many wonderful people at this site and on a few occasions sadly they have passed on, many of them asking me to not worry others here with what they are going through. On a day like this I think of my dear friend David from England whom this happened to and my eyes are filled with tears. What I need to do is be thankful to God for allowing me to be a part of this community and for allowing me to get to know so many of the marvelous people who are here now and in the past.

Mark, again you send us such a fantastic Street Scenery in three different and all mighty beautiful versions. I cannot say which is the most beautiful, simply because they all are. The first looks like an amazing winter street full of snow. The second looks like some kind of fabulous Glass art. and the thirth is simply dancing and glowing. I love all three. And your beautiful wishes and thoughts for others are deeply touching, as is your wonderful art. Thank you for sharing your art and wishes with us. I have three closer friends and a family member, I wish healing to also.

As a born again 80% agnostic/20% atheist, and contrary to magnus073, I find it most difficult to give thanks to an anthropomorphic deity for our blessings, and prefer to thank Mother Nature herself, and possibly an impersonal god of creation, on this grateful day, Mark. That said, you have offered a splendid all inclusive invocation to accompany your trio of fabulous postworked images in this Thanksgiving Wish. The top photo is a high-key black and white to die for, the middle one is stunningly well colored and textured, and probably as close to the original as all three, and the bottom version is a starkly colored and contrasted abstract brought to the Nth degree. All in all, a capital offering for this day.

Lovely treatments and transitions in these photos and I like the big orb. Wishing you a very blessed holiday season as well, Mark.

You do these so well; take a foto, change it in unexpected ways and I can never decided which I like best. Well, the purple mailbox is high on the list of faves, but each part is equally creative and beautiful. And thank you for the wishes. We spent part of it with some homeless people down by the river, giving out half pints of Jack Daniels. Not much, but maybe a bit to take the edge off for a few moments. And yesterday, I was about to leave a bag of clothes when I ran into a woman who needed clothes for her and her son. Talk about timing; I'd also just been to the store, so gave her a lot of what I'd bought. Simple for me, all I have to do is get more. There, but for the grace of God........

Like Helle, I couldn't possibly choose a favorite from these three. The purity and clarity of the first image just sings. It has peace and a sense of quiet contentment, and makes me want to sit on somebody's front stoop and just enjoy the scenery. I love the colors of the second frame, probably because they fit so well with the room I'm in! :) It's beautiful. There's a sense of hope, of something about to happen. Then the fulfillment of it all, the light and warmth and glory in the last image. What a fabulous progression! I love this. I'm a couple days late, but it's a welcome piece, none-the-less.

Thank you for this fine dedication, Mark. And everything that comes with it. I really appreciate it. I am so sorry i can not keep up with your posting speed in your gallery. I am not feeling so good at the moment. I wish i could just rise like you image does in this 3 step series/collage.
