Like your recent leaf-carpet (in rich autumn hues), this too is a beautiful capture of leaves, only on water. You get this tactile atomized feeling, a grain that brings it alive. Grain of course can dilute, interfere, muddle, etc; but when it's brought out well, it enhances the life in the scene we're looking at. The blue water, here, almost looks like tar, or almost like decoupage. It has an almost solidified resin feel to it, in your hands. And the stark yellows are such strong contrast to that deep blue. The patterns make a very complex abstract. It's beautiful, Claude. Another beautiful portrait of the world, closeup, from you...
