Description

A small statue in my garden. I believe it's a representation of the Hindu god Krishna, though I appreciate it for it's quiet tranquility & simple elegance rather than it's religious attributes... Please zoom.

Claude, because of time tonight, I'm skipping ahead...I'll get to the others in a day or two. I think---I think---this is a buddha or bodhisattva (follower). I could be wrong, though, as it's your statue and you would know better than I would. But I looked very closely, and it looks like the ear lobes are long. Also, he has the 'crown' of hair, and some other features common to buddhas, even though he also has some very hindu elements too. (Well, buddhism came out of hinduism, so it's 'all in the family'.) In any case, a very restful shot; I love the deep shadows and protective bushes, and the slightly damp cool look of the stalks on the ground. And they harmonize with the statue's color. Nice lights in the leaves in front of him. And I love the deep shadow around him. He does have royal features, which would befit Krishna. A lovely spot, and a very loving shot of it. And to me, the tree on the left kind of "takes us in," like an open door inviting us into the garden...lovely work.
