No idea what these are. I spotted them in my neighbor's yard & was fascinated by them - it reminded me of city skylines...

Almost certainly Equisetum, probably E. arvense if growing in a dry disturbed area. The whorled branches identify the genus. Most grow in wet areas but E. arvense has escaped this habitat. Common name is horsetail. They are not a reed, which is a flowering plant.. an Angiosperm. Equisetum are spore bearing and much more ancient. The genus Equisetum is ancient... fossils in the genus have been relatively recently discovered from the Jurassic. It's ancestoral relatives, Calamites, were massive (10s of meters tall) and formed huge forests during the Devonian; they were amongst the earleist land plants. Seeing these guys is like having a T. rex cross your path. They are often considered to be living fossils.... like the ceolocanth.

Fascinating comment directly above. In zoom these look like miniature tall trees, without many leaves. They seem a big extraterrestrial forest. Your light, the extreme white and yellow in the lower right leaves, and the light---seemingly from below---on the stalks make this a city at night, yes, with strange towers looming out of it. And the bokeh'd background yields this tomato-ey set of apparitions, with a deep red against all that yellow and light brown. The green diagonal, back there, is expressive as well, like grainy illuminated 'clouds'. More intense seeing from you, you brought out the inner life of this little patch of the world around you.
