Interesting clouds. I love how you can see the various levels they appear to be at in the sky; very good catch!

Unlike your deep blue and white cloud captures, this one is doused in early morning hues---although the hour isn't that early, but it is December after all, and you mentioned that storm front. The hues are beautiful, but it's also the mix of blues with deep peach-golds that make this shine, and the wonderful play of shadow too---with a blast of yellow in the lower left horizon. You've done a number of shots with blazing light to one side or the other, or up at a top corner of the shot, and it's always very effective. You give us hints of the sun's power, but let most of the blast stay out of the shot. (I assume that's also technically sound, because of the obliterating nature of the sun's light...but it's also an aesthetic choice, and it's one of your trademarks.) Here, it renders the area above and below it most dramatically dark. And you cropped it at the bottom of the clouds, so while we're oriented by the tree and street lamp, this is basically a sky shot---an effective 'dual' feeling. Beautiful light and capture. And the sky feels like silk.
